Our Story

Arts-Based, Award Winning, Community-Minded Brewery

Conestoga, Pennsylvania. It’s a quaint, rural town southwest of the city of Lancaster that’s celebrated by history buffs and cigar aficionados as the birthplace of the famed Conestoga Wagon and the namesake of the “stogie.” But for many local craft beer lovers, it was the routine of weekend jaunts to an unassuming Conestoga barn for a growler fill of Spring House brews that really put the town on both the proverbial and literal map.

Now we may have outgrown our pastoral, brewery-in-a-barn roots, but you’d better believe that we’ve maintained our dedication to keeping that homegrown feel alive and kickin’ at our new home in historic Lancaster city – a town that's been on the beer-brewing map since the late 1800's thanks to its early German settlers and, well, their love of drinking beer.

In addition to housing our brewery operations, the antique warehouse that we call home also features our flagship taproom and wood-fired pizza kitchen, a kickass arcade, dog-friendly patio, and many square feet for private and community events.

You can also find a fresh rotation of Spring House brews alongside seasonally dining menus at our sister locations:

The Coffin Bar in Downtown Lancaster, PA
The Tavern in Strasburg, PA

After 13 years of operation in heart of Downtown Lancaster, The Taproom closed for business in July 2023.

Our Mission

Beer is cool, but…

… Spring House is committed to more than just crafting a diverse lineup of top-notch beers for the craft beer community. In fact, we strive to be recognized as the "community's brewery," too – from the neighborhoods here in Southwest Lancaster City to anywhere we sell beer.

We do a lot of this work organically, with on-going sustainable relationships that include artists, teachers, farmers, and community organizers, but also through strategic partnerships with amazing non-profit organizations.

Remember, beer is cool, but you can always donate to these awesome organizations directly, too:
